Addie was raised by farmers, house painters, mediators, and real-life radicals in Charlotte, Michigan. She holds a BA in theatre from Oberlin College, and has trained at the Eugene O'Neill Center, the Moscow Art Theatre, and Double Edge Theatre laboratory. In the spring of 2010 she moved west to seek her fortune.
